One Car

What if I told that you can build your car’s next interior?

One Car is a project focusing on the modular design of the car interior. What if instead of buying a new car every 4-6 years, the car you have could adapt to you? In this project I have designed an interchangeable interior that can adopt many shapes based on the users’ preferences, and also fixed some of the problems that most current new cars have in their design and interactions.

In this project I have also looked into the circular economy and how it can be adopted along with new robotic advancements into an assembly line.

Insight

I began working on this project technically a year ago, during another class. Our client was MARS Solutions Lab, who was researching the future of mobility with elderly users in mind. During the presentation one question arose in my head: “What if instead of buying a car it could adapt to you?” After that, I began to form the core concepts of the project.

Impact

One car touches many areas of the automotive industry: starting from customization to the individual, which will allow them to create something that they want without additional costs. Then there is the company itself, which can benefit from a subscription model and long-term customers, as well as rapid innovation using different technologies. Another sector that may develop is the environmental sector, in which the circular economy can play a big role by keeping all the materials in-house by making sure the product comes back into the company for recycling and refurbishing.
