WholeStation: The Future of Urban Groceries

How can we reduce consumer food waste in Canadian cities?

WholeStation is a self-serve mini grocery market that aims to reshape the habits of urban Canadians that lead to food waste. Consumers create almost half of the $31B of food waste in Canada each year, and it is largely attributable to our infrequent grocery shopping style. WholeStation fits into convenient shared spaces like TTC stations, encouraging daily food shopping. The scale system and the accompanying app guide you to make accurate portion decisions, and take exactly what you really want.
