Chat N' Chop

Can a new service design in barbershops allow men to normalize being open with their emotions?

In Canada, men are three times as likely to commit suicide as women, and twice as likely to experience addiction. The leading cause for this is the phenomenon of toxic masculinity, where men are socialized to compartmentalize their emotions instead of responding to them appropriately. This project aims to reverse this circumstance, by creating a space which breaks the stigma around men speaking about how they feel, and providing activities which cultivate emotional intelligence.
