We welcome you to view a Future Perfect from the perspectives of OCAD U’s industrial designers.
Two years have passed since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the future seems increasingly difficult to define. As industrial design students graduating in the midst of this ambiguity, we are called to envision the space between today’s reality and tomorrow’s potential.
Future Perfect is a culmination of the human desire to define our collective future. In the first hybrid GradEx since 2019, this year’s graduating students have created both a physical and online space to present work developed over the past several months. Future Perfect is more relevant than ever in an era where we must consider the current realities of an ongoing pandemic and the steps to take to arrive at a post pandemic future.
For GradEx 107, OCAD U’s industrial design students have created projects that imagine a better future across several categories and fields. We approach design through a multidisciplinary lens, building upon traditional industrial design principles and histories, and taking inspiration from developed and emerging schools of thought and innovation.
